The Do Good Gauge describes a technology whree individuals develop coherent, resul, and thought provoking ideas. The reward from this technology is higher demographic visibility. The tool will succeed by addressing three obstacles which prohibit communication from penetrating understanding

When a group lacks goals and every individual has a single minded point of view, divergence of thought prohibits understanding. An argument requires unabated attention to provide clarity. This level of attention comes from an individual or like thinking group with similar understanding and desires.

Strong arguments evolve as lessons are learned. An iterative process based on coaching and public measurement builds strong arguments. A non destructive feedback mechanism encourages an author to perfect an argument. The continuous feedback and iterative process provides the forum for an author to change direction or clarify his or her point of view.

The importance of alternative points of view should not be ignored. Rational arguments consider the ramification of its premises. Examining alternative approaches can identify commonalities to share resources and provide alternatives for a more efficient solution. A matrix for relating arguments must identify the relationship of arguments ranging from similar to opposite points of view.
